FAQS

Is Taekwon-Do safe for beginners?

Yes, Taekwon-Do is safe for beginners when taught by experienced instructors in a controlled environment. At Hollingsworth Taekwon-Do, safety is our top priority. We start with fundamental techniques, emphasise proper form, and ensure a gradual progression as you build skills. With the right guidance and respect for your training partners, Taekwon-Do is a safe and enjoyable martial art for all skill levels.

What should I wear to my first Taekwon-Do class?

For your first class, just wear something comfortable that you can move easily in, like a t-shirt and joggers or leggings. Avoid anything too baggy or restrictive. Once you decide to continue, you’ll be able to get a proper Taekwon-Do uniform (dobok).

How often should I train in Taekwon-Do to see progress?

We offer two classes per week, which provides the perfect balance for steady progress without being overwhelming. Most students attend both sessions, as training regularly helps build confidence, improve fitness, and retain skills more effectively. As you develop, you’ll find that twice-weekly classes give you plenty of time to practice, progress through the belts, and reach your goals.
